Anyone running one? What is the flash/blast like?

I have one on an 11 inch 6.8 spc (I also have the can that goes on it) and it is obnoxiously loud and throws a fireball. If it did not hold my suppressor on I would not dream of using it.

P.S. The can is awesome!

Anyone know how it compares function-wise to the Miculek, JP/Bennie Cooley, SJC Titan, etc?

I've thought about picking up a Surefire brake mount. I already have a bunch of flash hider mounts for my M4FA. But if it sucks as a brake then I won't.

I was planning to put it on a 16" 5.56. That might be less intense than an 11" 6.8

WE HAVE BOTH THE 5.56MM BRAKE AND FLASH SUPPRESSOR IN STOCK, $115.

I have both the .223 and .308 version, I haven't used the .223 brake yet. On my AR10, I've tried the A2 type flash suppressor, MSTN QC brake, and another 4 port brake as advertised on POF's site, thought I got it from somewhere else

The Surefire brake isn't loud as other brakes, I suspect it has something to do with the blast chamber immediately behind the 4 side opening ports, it was no louder than the bolt action precision rifles with naked muzzles other students were shooting that day. I was surprised, since both the QC brake and the other 4 port brake produced enough concussion that people usually steer clear of me

Unfortunately, it's also not as effective as the MSTN and the other brake. I noticed significant muzzle rise after each shot, not as bad as with an A2 flash suppressor, but the MSTN and the other 4 port brake did a much better job dampening recoil and muzzle flip.

I have one on a 12.5" 6.8SPC SBR and don't find the noise or blast particularly objectionable from the shooter's POV. I have not shot it close to other folks, though. I think it does a good job of controlling muzzle rise and makes it noticeably faster to get back on target vs. shooting with an A2 birdcage.

Haha, no the pic is of "the other brake" I kept referring to, it's also an interface for a suppressor. The Surefire brakes look different, just like vmpglenn posted above.

They are so long that they almost defeat the purpose of having an SBR.

Again, they reflex back over the barrel, so only about 2" sticks out past the muzzle. This isn't much worse than a Vortex or Phantom.

Surefire does make brakes that are just brakes, not intefaces for their suppressors, those brakes are far shorter than the brake/suppressor interface combos.

Actually, those are interfaces for their shorty (K model) suppressors. They just also happen to be good brakes. Length added to the barrel ends up being roughly the same whether you're using a reflex design brake or one of the shorty brakes.

I installed the MB556K last night and shot it today. It produces a noticeable change in recoil and recovery time. Both way to the good side.
Very cloudy and dark day today, but I did not see any fire balls out the side. The Hornady Tap was quite well behaved out of it. No degradation in accuracy compared to the A1 bird cage.
I am pleased.

Anything can be permanently attached. Drill hole, pin, weld. Voila

It's what I would like to do but I don't know if these are legal for ban states.

Not a ban state, I just wanted one on a 14.5 barrel and I don't want to go through the trouble of SBRing it.

I think it's an excellent, and not so common, choice then. Good luck, I'm sure ADCO would do the work for you.
