This is kind of an odd question, but I'm thinking of a build that would require a very heavy, stable and large rifle or carbine free float 4 rail system.  Something akin to an ARMS system, but heavier and clunkier and all metal.

I promise I'm not crazy for asking this...I'll post pics if I ever figure this one out...

Also, does anyone know where I could pick up a picatinny mountable carry handle similar to what is used on the SAW and FAL?

I don't have the answer to the question you asked but if your trying to figure something AR related out this would be the place to post your idea.

Lots of knowledgeable people read these boards.  Chances are someone has already tried it or accomplished it on here and can give you some feedback.

Maybe a Badger Ordnance Stabilizer?

I do love my badger FF...

Yeah that badger is the only clunker than ARMS that I can think of. I'm not sure I'm not sure I've seen anyone with the badger, other than on the board.

The price is right if that's what you want.  Only $159.99 at Midway

That badger might work, but I'm looking for something even bigger and heavier if there is such a beast.  I'll post some design idea pics after I get a better idea of the rail system I'm going to use.  I need alot of weight and bulk for the rail since this is going to be the mounting point for something interesting.

Man, I tell ya, my old YHM FF was a chunky monkey. I added the end cap for extra chunk. Very durable product, but definitely a porker. Cheap as hell, too.

Since the OP doesn't want to tell  us his idea, I guess we will have to guess.

My first thought is that he is trying to build something silly like a stockless 870 with quick release Picatinny adaptor to mount on the rail.

Nope, way off.  I wasn't trying to hide the idea, I just wanted to get my design together first.  It is for a swivel mounted light machine gun.

DM1975 has one on his precision rig. It didn't feel very heavy to me the other day. Maybe you could add some weight with lead.

Yep, as with everything else, somebody beat me to it!  Who did that?
