| I've got a problem with the KAC panels staying locked in place after shooting a couple of rounds. I know on the end of the rails it's notched so the metal clip on the panels will lock in place to prevent movement. Anyone know a fix for this when the panels are not on the ends of the rail? I figure someone else has come across this issue before. hinking.gif |
Maybe on a lightweight YHM rail, but how can you click on a normal spec rail? The KAC clip is effectively held outside the groove until a notch is present. |
Screwy? They were the standard for YHM four railed HG's. No different than any other.
Don't know. Never had a reason to try. ETA: Could just be a trick that works on YHM only. |
I think that is the trouble the OP is running into - YHM appears to cut the grooves of their rails on a lathe rather than flat on a mill. Each slot is essentially like the ends of most spec rails. |
| You can also try running a veru small bead-line of silicone along the inside of the rail that hugs the rail. I saw that posted here awhile back. All of my KAC panels are pretty much impossible to move once in place..never had a problem with them moving. I've used the above technique on some fake rails and it did the trick. |
I originally came up with that fix and posted it here. Some KAC panels are a bit loose on MI rails. My fix was to apply black silicone sealant to the rail panel to tighten up the fit. This will not secure the rail to the panel, just tighten it up if loose. ETA: Pic
