It'll be heavy. If your going to use a bipod and stay stationary it would be fine. For moving around a regular HBAR is about as heavy as I'd go.

I would say "no." First, I'm not a big fan of DPMS. But, that is just my opinion. The real reason is that it is a .223 upper and not a 5.56 upper.

5.56 uppers will handle 5.56 and .223. But, you shouldn't shoot 5.56 out of a .223 upper. That is asking for a catastrophic failure. Check out the Ammo Oracle for all the details.

Ammo orical says "DPMS marks their barrels ".223", though they actually have 5.56 chambers."
