OK guys. I looked around the tutorials and I couldn't find anything about. Let me preface by saying this is a rookie question.

I'm an AK guy, and I have little experience with AR's, and I don't want to muck anything up. But after removing the A2 stock, how do I take off/replace the buffer tube? Should I even attempt this alone?

The special wrench is helpful, fits on the lug at the end of the tube.

Shouldn't be difficult if you got the shell off already and the rear lower receiver pin detent and spring secured, unless it was locktighted.

Though as you unscrew the tube, the buffer/spring detent and spring will want to shoot out unless you hold it down.

Here, even with the telescoping stock, you can see that detent.

Heres the wrench the cutout in the center fits A1/2/3/4 solid buttstocks.

awesome, thank you so much. I'll report my success/failure momentarily.

If you are using something besides the buttstock wrench, be careful; the fit of tool to part may be sloppy.

Also careful about the possibility of loctite.

The first one I did I broke that spring under the detent I think thats what its called. So watch out for that.

PS dont replace that spring with one out of a pen because your going shooting the next day It wont hold up after about 15 rds
