| I'm looking for a nice 18-20" .223 upper in the $500-700 range. This upper would be for varmints and some precision work. So far the only ones I'm really finding in these specs are RRA varmint or predator. Are there other uppers out there in this general range? Thanks for the help. |
| I just recieved a RRA 18" varmit upper that I'm using for an SPRish project. Went and shot it today, before replacing the handguard and it lives up to its 3/4 moa guarantee. IMO RRA varmit is the way to go. I think they are a little cheaper than BM and they come with the accuracy guarantee. |
I just ordered a predator upper and it's on back order. I should have it by the end of next week though. From what i understand it's just like the Varminter just with a 20" instead of a 24". |

The Bushmaster Varminter and Predator are the same except for their lengths (24 vs 20 inches) and twist rate (1:9 vs 1:8). Both are heavy CMV fluted barrels, with the SAAMI hybrid chamber. Their DCM barrel is also the same, except I think it might be lapped. The Varminter, Predator, and DCM are the most accurate barrels Bushmaster makes. |
