One of my uppers has a barrel marked:

C MP 1/9

This barrel is a "pencil" 16" length.  The marking would suggest Colt, but I am unfamiliar with the combination of pencil diameter and 1/9 twist.  Sure...1/7 pencil or 1/9 in heavy diameter...those I am familiar with.  Is this the real deal?  Never occurred to me to ask until now.  The upper came from a Forum sponsor some 5 or 6 years ago.  What do I have here.  Thanks,

Jeff

Yes, Colt did make some 1/9 twist pencil barrells in the 16" length,,,I believe the model number was 6521.

I own one with a 1/7 barrell , but had the chance to buy one with the 1/9 twist. Both were makred "Colt Carbine".

Musta had too many beers last night before posting the OP.  Sounds like Colt then?  The flat top upper came from J&T some years ago.  I didn't know about AR15.com back then and was only interested in making up a light "short" carbine for home defense purposes.  Thanks guys.
