A co-workers son gave me a like new Knight Armament Forward Grip for my AR-15. My question is: Is this sytle of pistol grip supposed to hold batteries? For the life of me I can't see how the cap comes off. I do own a GG&G Grip and it does. If so and it's frozen, how would you remove it with out breaking the assembly? I like the feel of the Knight Armament somewhat better.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, been around M-16/AR-15's 30 years now, but new to the "bells, whistles & gadgets" ball game and I appreciate all the help this web site provides.

The KAC forward grip consists of a hollow tube which is the outside of the grip, and a long plastic rod that fills the entire tube and screws in from the bottom to provide tension when mounted.

The KAC grip will not hold anything including batteries.

GG&G does (or at least did) produce a replacement center core for the KAC grip that allowed for battery storage as does the GG&G grip.  Give a gander at their website or the websites of some of their dealers.

I love the plain/minimalist KAC and GG&G VFGs.
