Are the rail cover widths from the various manufacturers uniform, or do they vary by make?  If anyone could post the widths, I would appreciate it.  (I'm not talking about ladders.)

They are different thicknessess. The Tango Downs are very thick compared to the Magpul and KAC ones I have. These are the only three I have tried.

Are you talking about thickness as in the material between the rail and your hand?  Because that's good to know, too.

I mean width as in how much it covers around the circumfrence of the forearm.

I copied this from someone else post it's the length on KAC rail panels. Don’t know how accurate it is. Also Operation Parts shows length in decimals.
2 rib = 1 & 5/8"
4 rib = 2 & 5/8"
5 rib = 3 & 7/16"
6 rib = 3 & 7/8"
9 rib = 5 & 7/16"
11 rib = 6 & 1/8"
vertical grip = 1 & 15/16" (footprint it covers on rail)

Yeah, I misunderstood the meaning of your post. I was talking about the thickness of the panels themselves.
