I'm about ready to buy my first AR and I have narrowed it down to these two.  Which would you recommend and why?  Also, would I be better off saving up a few hundred more and getting a LE 6920?

+1 for Bushmaster.

I have had great luck with Bushmaster.  I am not a big fan of the M4 profile, but either company makes quality stuff.  It's a Ford vs. Chevy type of situation.

I have a RRA Entry Tactical. I have a Bushmaster or two, but not an "M-4" style.

The Rock River is great, but if you want a chrome lined barrel, you will likely have to special order it. Mine has a wilson barrel, and is remarkably acurate, but I sorta wish it was chrome lined. The "Tactical Carry Handle" is very unusable and it would be money saved to order one without that feature. The six position telestock is very nice, and the two stage trigger is sweet.

If I was buying one off the shelf...well...I did. I'd order one just the way you want it and wait a few months to get it.

Any one of the three companies can give you a very fine rifle. The trick is getting all the features you want and none of the ones that you don't.

I own several RRA rifles and carbines which have an outstanding fit and finish.  The upper and lower fit is superior to any other AR-15 I have owned including Colt, B.M., Armalite, Frankfort Arsenal, and Olympic.

I appreciate all the help.  I went ahead and bought the Colt 6920 because that was the gun I really wanted and figured I would end up buying it at some point anyways.

I bought it LNIB from a local individual I found on EE.  The gun has never been fired and I didn't have to mess with shipping so I jumped all over the deal.
