Plenty of posts regarding the many options for the variety of uppers out there and available but want some advise on available lowers out there. I want to obtain a preconfigured lower with many of the options I'll desire such as a true match trigger group, ambi-safety, quality finish, etc.

Is there any real advantage to going the stripped down lower route? Thinking of just ordering a LMT lower at this point but not 100% sure if its worth it in the end.

building your own lower allows you to tailor it to your needs/wants.
most dealers here that offer lowers will usually do that for you but that along with cost is the main advantage over buying one that is "pre" assembled from the factory

What dealers here on the boards would be recommended in contacting regarding a "built to my specs" build on a lower?

dennysguns
adcofirearms
gandrtactical(dont think he offers lowers though)
gds_enterprise
talon arms

there is a list of them in the industry forum, the lower itself isnt that hard to assemble and there are tacked threads in the build it yourself forum with step by step instructions.

I strongly suggest building it yourself so you know how it works.

Building it yourself is NOT hard...there is a great guide here on the site that steps you through the whole process.  It is also nice to know how it goes together and comes apart in case you ever need to do a thorough disassembly for cleaning or to replace a spring, etc.  Not to mention that it's fun as well!
