I'm looking for an AR-10 upper options. My goal is to have a sub MOA, free floating heavy/bull barrel, non-chorme lined in either 20" or 24". The option to add a comp would be nice but not need. So far I have looked at Armalite and DPMS. Armalite is nice but just to much money and I dislike the handguards. Could not find a price for the DPMS 308 uppers just the whole gun. I have a DPMS 16" bull ar now and really like it but thats where my knowledge ends. I read a nice review about an Eagle Arms (AKA armalite) gun that shot very well and was much less then the branded Armalite rifles. Could not get their website ( www.eagle-arms.com ) to come up. Is there another link? Can you guys help tell me my options? Thanks |
If the handguards are the only thing you dont like about Armalites, I have the following options available: The barrel is a PAC-NOR SS, 24” 1:10 with the gas port moved out 2”, threaded 5/8x24. .308 Obermeyer chamber. It’s a medium contour – so it doesn’t weigh a ton, but its beefy enough to sustain aimed accuracy – my last 600yd 18 shot group measured 5.5” using 175gr Sierras. I’ve got many rounds with good results at every yard line out to 1000yds. To fill the gap made by the extended gas system I have the exclusive on the Daniel Defense 14.0AR10 rails, which I had made specifically for these barrels. The package includes Barrel KG coated the color of your choosing Complete Bolt Gas Tube Daniel Defense 14.0 Rail - The gas block area is .750, you can use most any gas block. 24" Barrel/gas tube Only 24" Barrel/gas tube w/bolt DD 14.0 AR10 Rail I also have a 20" barrel as well. I can also prepare one of these for installation w/setscrews and milled flats  Pricing is listed in the AR10 section of the EE. |

WOW thats a great deal!!! I think that is just what I will do. How long will you be offering this package? Getting the funds may take me a month or two. Also, forgive a noob but what is a Obermeyer chamber? Will that except 7.62 surplus ammo? What kind of upper receiver should I buy? I'm happy with the fit and finish of DPMS. Will DPMS work? |
