I want to build a Dissapator but want something a little differant.  I saw that Model 1 Sales has a ER SHAW Stainless Steel Dissapator Barrel available in either a 1 in 8 twist or a 1 in 9 twist.

Frist question:  Would this be a good barrel?  How is SS over a Chrome-lined Barrel?

Second Question:  What twist is better?  I'm used to a 1 in 7 twist and usually shoot 62 to 68 grain bullets.

Thanks!

If the gun may ever have to be used for defense I would stay with a chrome lined barrel. Chromed chambers help ensure easy extraction, even if there is a little trash on your cases or in the chamber.

A 1 in9 twist will stabilze those bullets you are shooting. It seems like most people make 1 in 9 barrels.

I see that Bushmaster has two types of Dissapator Barrels.  One is a Heavy Barrel profile and the other has a M4 Profile.  Besides the weight difference are there any other advantages of one over the other?

Also, if you order the complete Dissapator Upper from Bushmaster you can get it fluted.

What are your recommendations?

Thanks
