I'm looking for an additional rail set that wraps around a fixed front sight base, with three rails (3,6,9 o'clock) so's I can move my light further forward.  Have a Knight's RIS on the gun now and don't want to spend the baksheesh on a new "longer" fore end.  Any help out there?

So you want more rail estate but don't want to spend the cash to get it.  Hmmmmm, sounds like you have a problem.

ETA:  I'm not sure there is a solution for what you want that doesn't involve cash as some point or another.  The only types of rail systems out there right now are the DD 12.0 FSP, DD 9.0 FSP, the Troy MRF-CX and the KAC MRE, all of which run a bit over $300.

That's just the type of response I was not hoping for.  NO, I don't want to spend the 3-400 dollars for a free float tube or whatever, made by a lot of high quality manufaturers, and no, this isn't some, as others on the site have been called, a couch commando, and I don't need a ten page diatribe about the virtues of this rifle over that rifle, or I'm a jackass because I don't want to send the money out, or really pretty much all of the rants that this site generates.

Don't want to pick any fights over anyones manhood, have been shot, shot at, blown up, and seen the freaking elephant and don't need to justify existence.

So, bottom line, I'm just interested in options available for a guy that just wants to push his light forward a bit...

Again, any takers, or will I just get flamed again?

That was hardly a flame.  It was a statement of reality.  If you want your light forward, just ask.  Get a FSB mounted rail and mount it on that.  Or get a barrel clamp mount and mount it on the barrel.

Mongo, bad day in garrison world...I've seen what looks like the 3/6/9 o'clock piece that wraps around the front sight base on a rifle here and there, was wondering if that would work, but can't remember the manufacturer.  If you know what I'm talking, then about maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me 1) do those rails align with the rails on my Knight's system (old SOPMOD RIS), and 2) do/will/can they wrap snug arounf the front sight base.

Thanks for you help, I won't kiss your ass, but your more level headed than a lot of posts on here (take a look at the TAC POINT FAQ lately?), so thanks again.

Ooops, hit "REPLY" too early.

I think that "on the cheap" you could...

Purchase one of the FSB models like Mongo included
Purchase the Bushmaster Triple Mount (although not cheap either)
Purchase a Bushmaster/YHM rail extension

One of those might get what you want done, OR you might be able to sell your RIS for enough money to get you within $50 or $100 of one of the "MRE" rails if you were willing to part with the former.

I misunderstood you question at first, that's why the response was worded that way it was.  Your second post cleared my head as to exactly what you wanted and the answer was easy from there.

Onslaught, Mongo, thanks again, I'll check out the options from there, the YHM/Bushy sounds like what I'm looking for.
