Besides Colt, who makes a good standard bolt assembly?  What makes them so different?

As best I have been able to tell - from knowledgeable folks here- is that most all makers are good bolt/bolt carrier builders.

But Colt is the only one that I have heard of that thoroughly tests their parts.

Essentially they are the same- but Colt checks them many ways to determine whether there are defects or not.

So buy a DPMS, CMT, LMT, or from Bushmaster RRA or one of the bigiges, and you should be good to go.

My alternate brand for Colt is CMT. They are available MP tested like the Colt and they are a Colt supplier also.

My next choice would be a LMT. I have both CMT and LMT bolts and spares. YMMV

Thanks for the replies.  I was looking at a CMT bolt and heard good things about them.  So all CMT bolts are MP tested?

Not all CMT bolts are MP tested, you have to specify you want the MP tested bolt when you order it.
