Hey guys I really like the arms 58 mod for the carbine or the Samson extended for the car.  From what I can tell the arms looks stronger by the way it mount to the top and the nut not just the nut.  I want to maybe mount an EO tech  I would like it to cowitness, will this work with the arms with eo mounted over the reciever, I dont want to mount it up front.  Well have yall uesed either if so whats you take.  Thanks

Darby

PS just my ar last week looks like the stuff on it, gonna cost more then the gun, damm thing is addictive, already looking for the next one.

+1 for the Samson, I think you'll be a lot happier with it especially if you're going with an EOTech.  You can't cowitness an EOTech on an ARMS unless it is the bi-level model ARMS and you place it all the way out front.  As for the strength of the attachment method of the Samson rail, you have absolutoley nothing to worry about.  The worries about its attachment method originates with speculation and has never proven to be grounded in fact.  Many are already using them in the Sandbox, some with M203's without issue.

Both are good choices, but my nod goes to the SIR.

Check them both out in person if you can. See which one has the features you want and will work the best for your intended use. Things like the weight, etc., may or may not be an issue for you, and is something only you can decide on. Depending on what kind of optics you are going to use, the added rail height of the SIR may or may not be a problem.

Hey thanks guys.  Hawkeye you built my dream gun, well almost LOL.  I want a magpul stock.  I just got my tango down grip and dont like it too small.  How do you like the MIAD?  I will try and see if I can look at both in person.  Thanks

Welcome to the boards.  I already covered most of this over on Glocktalk, but since you mentioned the mapgpul stock, here's my Troy midlength with magpul stock.  It's an older picture, it now has the magpul MIAD grip and I've upgraded to a Larue mount for the Aimpoint.

Editted because I finally took a new picture:

Ok guys, I wanna throw a wrench in here.
I want a rail handguard for my M15A4 Armalite, mid-length.
It doesnt seem to me I need the type to go up over the reciever, why would I want that style?
Is full-floating a 16 in barrel REALLY going to yield that much better acurracy?
And why the heck are all the mid-lengths so frequently back-ordered?
School an ignoramus fellas.

Hi DaddyDett,

As far as improvement from free floating...I want the most inherently accurate gun I can get.  I'm such a bad shot I need all the help I can get..LOL.  Necessary?  Depends on what you are going to do with it but removing outside POI influence can save you some grief sometimes.

Just my .02 cents

Using a tube that is isolated from the barrel ensures that the POI will not change as you attach and remove your flashlight or other accessories.

+1 MRF is lighter, less expensive, has a solid aluminum bottom rail (won't flex), and all the rails are to spec (and will fit the Tango Down VFG).
