Where is the best source of a new A1 length/style stock? I see used ones but I would prefer new.

Beware of the CDNN A1 stocks. Mine has started cracking and it's just been sitting in the safe on a lower. My advice is buy one of the Cavarms C1 stocks @ Tapco for $15.

I'd go with Fulton armory if you want an original style buttstock as cavarm's looks like it is a different material? Correct me if I am wrong.

Northridge in California has surplus A1 stocks, pistol grips, and triangular handguards. I have a couple and they're top notch.

Is the stock body cracking, or is it the buttplate?

I have  one that is in excellent condition, stock only, just the reg version without trap door.

LMK if interested, also have a 20" pencil barrel excellent  rifling  and its a 1/12 twist.

Im looking for a carbine 14.5 barrel.

The 20" is a Colt chrome lined barrel and chamber.

Some folks report cracks along the edge of the buttplate.  I have four A1 stocks (2 came free with uppers from CDNN).  Not one has a crack.  I shoot a fair amount of FA, but don't use the gun as a hammer.  But clearly the Cavarms stocks are stronger.  Depends on whether you want originality or ultimate strength.

Both. I'm sending back to CDNN for a replacement but it's still costing me shipping.

It is different. Glass-filled Nylon 6. Extremely strong and durable.

Not really. CDNN will credit you your shipping charges back.  They did for me after they sent me an early non trapdoor butt, and I wanted the trapdoor type they'd shown in their ad. All they asked was that I use the least expensive return mode (straight parcel post as I recall).

CDNN is good folks.

Our friend Rusty has politely refrained from mentioning that his company DSG Arms also sells CavArms stuff, and has some of the best prices and service I have found. I ordered a SST870 last night, $30 less than anywhere else I could find.

I am really sold on the CavArms stuff. The C1 is my favorite non collapsible stock.

Thanks Rusty, that's very interesting. The one I just bought looks just like the Cavarms C1 I had a couple years ago right down to the trap door and enlarged storage space. Tapco also did not correct me when I emailed them questions about them and referred to them as Cavarms C1 stocks. But that info is straight from the horses mouth. I wonder who does make them now?
