Has anybody ever used one of the FinalFinish Systems on their barrel? Did you notice any improvment in accuracy?

Quote  from Brownells:
" Mfr: FINAL FINISH
Polishes Bore, Reduces Fouling, Gives Easier Cleaning

Abrasive coated bullets provide effective polishing to remove tool marks, rough areas and high spots in bore and throat. Eliminates the primary cause of lead and copper fouling and makes bore cleaning easier and less time consuming. Long, match type, jacketed bullets provide maximum bearing surface for efficient polishing action. Every caliber kit includes 10 bullets each, in five grades of compound to progressively smooth and polish bore. "

Here we go again.

Barrel makers absolutely LOVE people who use this junk. They get to sell more barrels.

Firing abrasive coated bullets in your rifle simply wears the crap out of your barrel. You can easily take over 1000 rounds or more off of it's life. That's if you have a regular chrome-moly barrel. If you run this junk through a chrome PLATED barrel, you'll basically destroy the barrel.

If, as the ads claim, this stuff is so great, why don't the Army or Marine sniper schools use it whenever they get in some new precision rifles?

Any alleged increase in accuracy or ease of cleaning that MAY result from using this junk isn't worth your money, time, effort and harm to your barrel.

Get a bunch of ammo, shoot the rifle and clean the thing normally. You'll end up with the same results over time and have a lot more fun doing it.

Have you actually used the product yourself?  Have you personally observed, with a bore scope, and measured the throat and bore prior to and following use of the product?

As a 2112 Armorer I have read many reviews on this and I can personally attest to the fact that Fire Lapping a barrel is derogatory to the accuracy as this person stated.

If a person desired a lapped barrel, do it by hand to control the process.

The application of Fire Lapping has numerous negative effects and it does erode the throat of the barrel significantly which in turn depletes accuracy.

The only way to do any amount of significant fire lapping is to do it in the original chamber, then rechamber to a longer cartridge that cuts out the old throat damaged by fire lapping.

In one perspective, grit isn't my favorite bore cleaner.
