| How do you adjust elevation on the folding front sights? |
|
Here are pics of the tool. I suggest getting the blue key thing. Worked great for me: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=69985 |
Shoot. The source is right on the tip of my tough but I'm having a mental block. They're about $7. My first blue key was destroyed by my very tight first generation Troy sight. I heard that they first run had extremely tight front sight posts but they've loosened them up in recent production runs. In fact my recently produced front sight can be turned by the aforementioned crushed casing, whereas my first one could not.
You might have to re-crush it every now and again. After a half to one turn it might start to round out again, but this is more of a field expedient measure anyways. Also it might not work on earlier sights as noted above. Corey PS I just remembered the front sight adjustment tool source -- Tapco. Blue AK47 front sight adjustment key

You always zero the sights for elevation using the front post. |
