I have a preban lower and I am trying to install a CMC trigger but there is a piece marked COLT in the way that looks like it is pressed in above the saftey and I need to remove that to install the trigger. What is that for and how do I remove it? If you want I can email you pics leave me your email at [email protected] and I will send them to you. Thanks. Sincerely, Bruce |

You can carefully cut through the block and the pin or you could drill out the pin. Check this thread out here Colt lower meets Dremel This should give you all the info you need. Personally I would'nt take the time to do this, the sear block does'nt bother me, I would just get a different trigger rather than hack up one of my Colts. |
The sear block is secured by a blind hardened pin and then a roll pin secures it, at least most of them as Colt used different methods with different lowers. As the other poster says, you may just want to get a different trigger. Removing the sear block is a PITA and if not done properly can damage the lower. You can have it removed, but expect to pay around $50 to $100, probably closer to $100. With the block in, the only triggers that will fit are the Jewell, Armalite and the Accuracy Speaks single stage. The Rock River has to have the block removed. |
