I am in need of an ultra lightweight free float tube for my 16” A2 Carbine with standard front sight.

I have searched the forums looking for the one that will fill my needs, and so far this is what I have come up with:

-Yankee Hill Light Weight 4 Rail Free Float Forearm – 10.2 ounces
-Yankee Hill Customizable Free Float forearm – unknown weight, but am told it is very light.
-Hoague Free Floater - unknown weight, but am told it is very light.
-JM Carbon Fiber free float tube – 4 or 6 ounces

I do not really need the picatinney rails as I will not be mounting any optics or accessories onto this upper, but I also need something that is extremely durable and that won’t burn the hell out of my hand from rapid or constant fire.

Are their any other free floaters out there that I’m missing. Any and all help will be appreciated.

If you don't want it to get hot then don't get the Hogue.

Clark Custom Guns carbon fiber handguards.  Very light (only 6 oz for rifle length, lighter if you cut it to carbine length).  I use one on my SPR clone and have been very happy with it.  A great deal for $100, IMHO.

Yup, I already have that one listed up top as the JM (Jerry Miculek) tube. Thanks though.

Also how durable is it? Does it flex when you grip it? anything you don't like about it?

The hiperform tube is also a popular lightweight.

The ultralight carbine version is 6.0 oz and it is very sturdy.

They're around $100.
