Looking at buying my first AR and sold on the Colt line but stuck on which one to pick. I prefer the full stock over the collapsible and the A3 removeable handle so I think that puts me with the a choice of the following three: MT6601C (might be an A2 fixed handle can confirm) MT6700C MT6731 Any suggestions or experience would be appreciated. Specifically 16" or 20" barrell I can't decide. All of them will be far more accurate than me. My use will be plinking and target shooting (toy) Thanks for any help, IRS refund due soon. Bob |
| Out of those three, I would get the MT6601, but not the "C" variant. The "C" variant has a muzzle brake which makes the rifle even louder than it already is. Not recommended. The MT6601 has a 1/7 twist which will allow you to use the entire spectrum of bullet lengths/weights. A 1/9 barrel may or may not shoot anything heavier than 69 grains. Just know that it has a chrome lined chamber, but not a chrome lined bore (if it matters to you). |
