Lots of good info above under the INFORMATION button and there are "Tacked" topics at the top of the AR Discussions, Ammunition and Build It Yourself forums that are worth reading. Pecking order for AR15 rifles generally runs like this: Top Tier = Armalite, Bushmaster and Colt (all of these manufacturers have at one time or another produced weapons for the US. Gov.) Second Tier = DPMS, Olympic, Rock River Arms (recent DEA/FBI contractor, IIRC) Eagle Arms Lower Tier = J&T, Model 1 Sales, American Spirit Avoid like the Plague = Hesse, Vulcan NOTE: If purchase of a lower and upper seperately is in consideration do NOT pass up looking at LMT and CMMG's upper products. The Lewis Machine and Tool uppers are quality made (I own one) and CMMG at local dealer on the EE sells quality "produced for him alone" 1/7 twist chrome-lined uppers at a resonable cost (yes I own one of his M4 uppers also).
