First I will apologze if this has already been covered,  but I did not see it after digging through the site.

I am about to buy my first AR variant, and I have pretty much settled on DPMS as the maker.

I have seen many arguments over makers, and most come down to "I don't like their guns" type anecdotal comments rather than quantitative documentation.

If anyone here has objective information as to why I would not want to purchase a rifle from DPMS, please let me know so that I may take it into consideration.

Okay, seems I really do have to apologize.  Dumbass me did not notice the search function prior to posting my initial questions.

If somebody like Pat Rogers, who observes A LOT of rounds going
downrange each year, says: "They seem to have spotty quality control", it is
enough for me to look elsewhere for a practical carbine. For a target
shooting rifle, DPMS is probably fine.
