[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Pac West Lower ???

Have a guy that wants to trade me a Pac West lower,anyway that's what he calls it. I've never heard of this one before. Any info on the quality, manf, would be appreciated. I havn't laid eyes on it yet. Thanks.

I just recently traded a guy for a Pacs West lower (PWA). I wanted it since it was a preban. I have been unable to find out any info regarding the manufacturer. I have seen complete pre ban rifles in CT going for $1500-2000 range.

This is the only info that I found on a website that helped verify that the lower I was buying was in fact a pre-ban :
"Definite serial cutoff. Last Pre-ban lower is #35,222. All Post-ban receivers are given a year prefix."

PWA (Pacific West Arms)

Good lowers, most people that own them love them. As good as any other lower out there (sorry Colt purists). Older since the vast majority were manufactured before the ban. No longer in business.

Others here have far more info than I do - My PWA's are among my best AR's.

PWA made nice lowers. Many pre-ban and all post-ban have a high shelf (only pertinent for RDIAS/RLL installation and a very few 2-stage competition triggers). Not all post-bans had a year prefix in the serial.

Thanks alot guys. I have a few Colts, RRa's and Eagle arms. Might as well add the PWA to the collection.
