I know that I am probably starting something but I would like you honest opinions. I want to buy a new rifle (like I really need another one) in the M-4 type configuration and have done the gun show thing so here are my choices: DPMS Rock River Arms Bushmaster Olympic I have an Armalite and a Colt so they are out. I am told that the DPMS is teflon coated. Are the others also teflon coated and does it make a big difference? I really love the trigger on the RRA and almost did a quick buy at the last gun show based on that alone. I know the Bushmaster hasa a good reputation. They all seemed to have a good fit except for the Olympic which wasn't really too bad (always can use the accuwedge) but it was also the cheapest. I am sure thay all have thier plus's and minus's. I will never use it for combat (God willing) so which one is the best for the money? Thanks. |

RRA and Bushmaster make good rifles. DPMS isn't too bad either, although some people don't like them. Olympic arms is an OK company, but stay away from cast parts. I hear those always break. I don't own any of the brandsm entioned above; I have a Armalite, but my buddy has a Bushmaster, and it's a sweet little gun. Of the ones you listed, Olympic is probably the worst, but even they aren't all that bad either. Do a search; there are a couple fairly recent subjects on this matter. Kevin |
