Who sells A1 stocks ? I haven't seen one in awhile.

I have a couple of extra A1 stocks lying around with buffers and tubes. IM me if you're interested.

Let me see how this turns out. Doesn't the A1 and A2 use the same tube and buffer ?

Cav Arms C1 if you don't want something adjustable.

Yup, they use the same buffer tube. You just take out the A2 spacer and use a shorter top screw.

The Cav Arms A1 stocks are nice but keep your metal trap door butt plate.

A friend and I just put new stocks on our SPRs. Each of us had A2 style stocks on them before. He put the Magpul M93a, I put the LMT. Last time we went out shooting together (last week), each one of us commented on how much we appreciated the adjustable stock on these guns. Unlike our carbines, which we almost always shoot from some standing position, we shoot the SPRs from several different supported positions. Like off a stool from a bench, or on the ground from prone. If we are standing it is usually while the rifle is resting on a table or something. While throwing off the balance of the gun somewhat, the rifle is usually shot from some type of rested position. So the balalance was not as much of a concern. Upon changing stocks, each of us immediately noticed the ability to change the length of the stock in order to maintain a comfortable and natural hold on the rifle while keeping good eye relief from the optics. Prior to the adjustable stock, we had to modify our shooting position to acheive propper eye relief from different shooting positions.

So I really enjoy the adjustable stock o the SPR style rifle. If you decide the same thing, I think which you get will dpend more on personal prefference and taste. I think both the Magpul and the LMT are excellent choices. I just happened to choose the LMT.

I've ruled out the magpul because of a past experiance. I am leaning away from a fixed stock.

I really like the Magpul M93A on a SPR due to the extra weight (from the longer barrel) to counter balance it. They are also just about as solid as a fixed stock and give you more versatility (my .02).

I hear you. Lots of different shooting styles out there. VLTOR didn't work for me, M93A did. I tend to crawl forward on the gun, so thats why I like that cheek weld. Those that shoot head upright with the rifle high on their shoulder seem to prefer VLTOR or LMT.

+1 on the A1.  I've added a GG&G side sling spacer.  Also, please note that the buttrap is a great place to store scope adjustment tools, batteries, etc.  No question about it.

I can't believe so many people voted for a solid stock since most of the photos show other wise.

I had a Crane clone on mine, but it never left the position that it was in, which happened to be the same length as an A1 stock, so I went with the VLTOR A1 Modstock and really lost nothing and freed up a collapsable stock for one of my carbine builds.

Look, the real answer is to just bite the bullet and put the one you most believe in. Then, build another and use the other stock. If you still arent sure... build another and use the next stock. $9000 later you can come back here and say definitively which one you like best!!!

Funny I'm actually weeding out what I have. I'm in the process of saving for a house and the best part my 500yd range might be closing so I'm not going to be buying alot until I'm sure what's going on with the range. I just want to finish my SPR and get a Colt carbine to hold me over for now.

Solid stocks are a piece of nostalgia, a blast from the past, a bittersweet memory.

Telestocks are the smart way to go, especially for a rifle with an optic, where the variable length is a great help when shooting from different stances.
