| Just looked at the prices to put together a LMT upper with bolt/carrier, LMT lower, trigger, stock, rear sight etc. I am coming up with close to $1362 and the rifle is not complete. I am thinking I might be better off trying to find a complete new or used Colt Law Enforcement Carbine? Thoughts anyone???? The big "IF" is does the new Colt LE Carbine's with M4 barrel feature a chrome lined barrel/chamber and MP??? I have two older 20 inch with A2 style Colt uppers now on another gun and want to stay with either Colt or a Colt like supplier for this carbine, which I am reading that LMT may be?? However I may be able to find a used Colt LE Carbine for about the same or less. Thoughts??JimmypCoaltrain |

1362 seems high for a LMT. I'm sure you can find a complete setup for less than that. IF you can get a Colt LE rilfe for less money, that is what I would go with. And yes the Colt LE guns like the 6920 are MP inspected, with chrome lined bores/chambers. If you think you want the LMT look in the EE here. There are several good vendors with good prices on LMT stuff. ![]() I've dealt with G&R Tactical and they are good folks. |
the lowers are either $350ish with the normal M4 stock or about $550ish (i think) with the crane style stock. |

You can purchase complete LMT lower halves (special request) from Global Tactical for $335 shipped if I recall correctly. I'm not sure what your specs are, but I think your calculations may be a bit off. Here's a rudimentary breakdown: LMT lower half: ~$335 LMT upper: ~$485 LMT standard bolt group: ~$130 LMT BUIS: ~$120 Total for complete rifle: ~$1070 My guess is you're throwing in a two-stage trigger, SOPMOD buttstock, or enhanced bolt group. If so, then the comparison to a factory Colt doesn't really work. |
Ditto. Grant is there for ya. Danny |
What gamble is that? Who had a bad rifle that the manufactureer didnt make right? What did I miss over the weekend? |
I have found LMT's quality to be the equal of Colt, if not slightly better. My Colt LE6920 came NIB with far more assembly marks than my LMT components, and the fit of the LMT parts is a little better. Given the current price of Colt's LE products, I would go LMT in a heartbeat. |
Boy, what a choice. If you can't get a complete Colt ( including any LEO model ) for a reasonable price (~$1K), then look at LMT. BM lowers seem to be on par with most, but past experience with their uppers and components has been a diaster. A BM lower with a Colt upper followed by LMT upper. I have recently picked up an LMT rack grade upper (thanks to one HFG prior posts) for trial. Fit and finish is as good as any Colt I have (which is quite a few). I have about 4k rnds of Q3131A/M193 that is targeted to go down the LMT tube. The LMT upper configuration is a LMT BC, but a Colt bolt. I will report back when done. |
Your price is at least $300 high..... C4 www.gandrtactical.com |
