| Other than directly from Smith.....is there a better place to get them from? |
![]() If it was a snake it would of bitten you |
Well, after seeing that picture I have to have one! |
S.E. price on the G-6 is $45 and their shipping cost on UPS ground is around $7. So your looking at about $51-$52 dollars and between a 5-7 day delivery time. I charge $50 delivered and ship via USPS Priority mail (2-3 days). C4 |
Support silicone! Buy a Vortex! Damn, she's a damn sight easier on the eyes than Eugene Stoner was.......)of course she's not in the same class)-disclaimer for asshats. |
HUH?? Last time I checked, Smith Ent. doesn't pay AR15.com a DIME for support. Without dealers support you wouldn't have a place to post the comment you just made! C4 |
BROWNELLS: TACTICAL G-6 VORTEX FLASH HIDER - Four, specially angled flutes hide muzzle flash by dissipating gas and retaining unburned powder for increased residual burn. Constructed of the same 8620 heat-treated steel used in the manufacture of M-16/AR-15 bolts and carriers. Skirt extension conceals gap between barrel shoulder and flash hider on M4, M-16, and AR-15 tactical rifles. Grooved base ring allows integration of Blank Firing Attachment (BFA) used by law enforcement trainers, and permits installation of military sound suppressors. Thread-on design requires no washers. Torque to 10 ft. lbs. maximum, self-tightens as weapon is fired. Use M-193, SS-109, American Eagle 55 gr. FMJ, and NATO spec. ammunition for highest degree of flash suppression. $41.33 |
| I have a few Vortexes and they are working fine. I think for my post 9/13 builds I'm going with the old style M-16 three prong. I've read some tests that show they work almost as well as the Vortex and they cost $6-$8. I've also never heard of a three prong flash hider having the prongs blossom. I've seen three Smith Vortexes of different vintage blossom. It's a bitch when they are permanently attached. |
I think you should go back and double check Brownells price on them. They are $51.67 not counting shipping. www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=18711 I guess you missed my post about Brownells not supporting AR15.com... ![]() C4 |
Yeah, why look somewhere else? Just about everything you want/need can be found right here on ar15.com so why would you look somewhere else? Cruise over to the Equipment Exchange and check it out. Why not purchase it from someone right here...save a few bucks, get fast shipping and support those that support the site...makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? |
$41.33 is Brownells "Dealer Price", which almost anyone qualifies for. But then I think you knew that, didn't you? ![]() I didn't miss anything. My business goes where I get the best price and service. I partronize MANY of the dealers on the board, but I am not beholden to purchase from anyone based on where they choose to advertise. IIRC, Brownells has advertised here from time to time. They just don't base their entire marketing plan on this place or any other internet gun board. |
When I got my dealer account with brownells I had to send them my business license. I don't imagine most folks have one of those (maybe I am wrong). Even with the dealer discount your within a couple of dollars of my price. CURRENTLY, brownells DOES NOT support this board and without dealers paying dues, this place would have a hard time surviving. I also advertise elsewhere as it is never good to have your eggs in one basket. You say that your business goes to where you get the best servicie. Well look no further for quality service my friend: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=109&t=185028 When you call brownells, you get a minimum wage operator who doesn't care about your order. When you order from G&R Tactical, LLC you speak directly to the owner who DOES care about it. Remember, the cheapest price isn't always the best price.. C4 |
BINGO! |
He's slick, you have to be careful around him! I go out there to pick up one thing and leave with 4 or 5 items I didn't have on my list |
|
all right, enough of this crap. grant sells them, got one from him arrived in two freaking days. good price ,fast delivery and excellent customer service. what more do you freakin want? a bottle? far as i'm concerned we should support our site and i would rather spend my money with dealers who are reliable and most of them know what da f--k they are talking about . enogh said, the vortex is an improvement over the "standard" fh. especially shooting at nght with xm193 ammo. big boom, less flash. so go and buy one! you will not be disappointed. meat ![]() |
A $30 C&R will also get you qualified, some get in with even less. Used to be, any order over $250 qualified you for dealer pricing. I've probably spent forty times that amount with them over the years.
Agreed. It takes advertising revenue AND paying members to keep the site going.
What I said was that I go where I get the best price and service. I never questioned your service. I know that many here rave about it. I just haven’t had the occasion to order from you. I’m loyal/partial to the vendors who have treated me right over the years, someday maybe I’ll add G&R to that list. The fact that you seem to have been disingenuous about Brownells pricing does give me cause to ponder though. I’ve never had a single problem with Brownells. In the last 15 years, I’ve probably placed at least 60 orders without a memorable glitch. And their prices overall are very competitive.
Not necessarily. Brownells isn’t exactly the Wal-Mart of the gun world. I’ve found their customer service people to be very knowledgeable, professional and efficient – Probably much like you.
Never said it was, but sometimes you can ‘Get Both’. I never intended to start a silly internet pissing match, and I wasn’t trying to slam you Grant. Sorry if you took it that way. Sharing info is what this place is about. As I said, I haven’t had occasion to order from you, because I can get the stuff I need from vendors with long-established relationships. I notice that you do carry one line that I’ve been intrigued by lately - the Troy MRF. Any plans for an AR10 version? |
No ill feelings Slash. I just see a lot of folks on here pushing companies that don't support this web site and that is wrong in my book. Not saying that they should buy from me, but one of the fine dealers on this board. The TROY MRF is a great rail system for sure. I have not heard anything about them building one for the AR10, but that would be cool for sure! C4 |
I grew up in Virginia Beach. I'm starting to appreciate that I don't live anywhere near Grant. I'd permanently be in the poor house! |
So you'd be like me then? |
+1 |
