Been shooting service rifle high power but going to switch to match rifle hp and need some
help on what uppers work.  Bushmaster varmint, RRA varmint, or any others, that doesn't cost a thousand bucks.  Around a 24" to 26 "  flat top. Anyone had any advice on these?
Thanks

You should pick the Rock River over the Bushmaster based on barrel twist alone. The Bushmaster has a 1 in 9" twist as opposed to the RR 1 in 8". The RR will allow you to shoot the 77 and 80 grain bullets. You may also want to check out John Holliger's products.

Not to patronize, but my first, and only AR currently is the Bushmaster and you are wrong.  Standard barrels on the DCM Competition rifles are 1:8 twist, and 69-77 gr bullets is like candy for these barrels.  Have not yet seen much factory match ammo 80gr, but 77gr is nice.  Won't get into a brand name argument with anybody on this one b/c I am too new to know if BM beats RRA.  Both should be outstanding rifles, and sad to say, if I were to buy one all over, it would be RRA for economy.  If you do get RRA, you might try a 3lb lead weight like BM puts in its trapdoors for balance.  Muzzle rise is comparable to 22lr off the bench and recoil is unfelt.  Good luck

Sorry but *you* are wrong.

Go back and read the original post, he said the Bushmaster *varminter* NOT the Bushmaster DCM rifle. He is wanting a flat top, not the A2. The Bushmaster varminter DOES come with the 1 in 9" twist.

Sorry, my mistake.  I assumed when he said match upper, he meant the competition gun
