A while back there was a discussion about some DPMS flat top uppers that had out of spec rail heights. Does anybody know how I could find some more info on that subject? I tried the search function, but it was no help.

Basically what I'm looking for is measurements from the bottom of the upper receiver to points A and B in the pic below.

I measured my DPMS upper and my buddy's RRA upper and there's .040" difference between the two, with mine being the "taller" of the two.

These are the measurements from mine:

A) 1.875"

B) 1.760"

Can anybody else measure theirs and give me the measurements so I can compare?

Thanks.

C'mon now, there's nobody out there with a flat top upper and a set of dial calipers?

A quick measurement shows 1.848" and 1.726" on a known good upper here. If your DPMS upper is one with an out-of-spec rail, they'll swap it for a new one at no charge. They're aware there was a problem and they're good about taking care of it.

I have a Bushy M4A3 upper I measured for you.
BTW, thanks for the question, one more thing to aggravate me , see below.

1.8405" at the first high, large flat just forward the carry handle
1.7200" at the first low flat
1.8390" at the second high flat
1.7185" at the second low flat
1.8387" at the third high flat
1.7180" at the third low flat
1.8385" at the fourth high flat
1.7190" at the fourth low flat

As you can see, not "perfect".
The rest of the rail is obstructed.

I really appreciate it, guys. I guess my rail is about .035-.040 higher than it should be...hmm...now for the big question...  Is it worth it to send it back for replacement or should I just deal with it?
