What purpose does the asymmetric sleeve that comes with the offset pin serve?  I'm fitting a LMT upper to large-hole Colt lower.

Thanks

Put the two together and you will see. The hole in the upper does not perfectly line up with the holes in the lower.

Thanks.  The funny thing is, it DOES fit without it.

Right. That's what the offset pin is supposed to so all by itself  The sleeve sounds like what you would use to fit a large hole UPPER to a small hole LOWER?????

You're probably right.  The sleeve is too big for the hole in the upper.

thanks again

Sounds like by putting those two things together in a "kit' they are providing you with the means to fit a small hole upper to a large hole lower (offset pin) and to fit a large hole upper to a small hole lower (sleeve). Depending on the application, you'll need one or the other, but not both at the same time.
