| Is it legal to be in possession of a short barrel upper? I want to get one to have a flash hider permanently attached. to make it 16 inches. |

A barrelled upper should not be kept with a non-NFA AR15. Because the upper could be installed on the lower in just a few seconds and with no tools, ATF has successfully won cases of "constructive intent" for having such a combo. A short barrel by itself, not installed on an upper receiver, is okay, because you can't just slap that on your gun in a few seconds. -Troy |
