I recieved my #59 SIR and my #40 BUIS yesterday, but the box the SIR came in had no instructions in it.
The BUIS looks simple enough (goes on FIRST), but how does the SIR go on? (I understand the delta ring has to come off beforehand, as well as the front handguard cap)
Do I:
1. Remove the bottom section
2. Put the top half onto my upper
3. Put bottom half on

??

Also, how tight should the mounting screws be torqued to? (Locktight is a given).

Those of you who have installed one, lend me your gotchas.

One other thing. I will have to wait until July to try this out, since my rifle is still at home at Washington, but I am in the Persian Gulf.

I hate waiting........

On the # 59 removal of the handguard cap isn't necessary, only removal  of the Delta ring assembly.
Once that's removed, simply put the "top" rail over the receive rail, replace the "fastening block" from the side through the mounting holes.  Screw down those 3 "nuts", hand tight w/ a screwdriver, I wouldn't depend on "hand tight" w/ a coin, not enough torque.  Loctite, yup.  The use the barrel nut yolk, 2 screw each sided  of the yolk.  Done.
I think someone here said "a monkey can install the SIR, a retarded monkey can install the Civ. SIR." or some thing like that.
There should be instructions in w/ the SIR, if not give ARMS a call, they'll send one out to you.  If that doesn't work out for you, give me your address, I'll send one to you.  If you want a copy in advance LMK, I'll mail you one so you get an idea what your facing when you get home, and have 1 less thing on your mind.

Hope it helps.
Stay safe.

Ahh, so that loop has to come off first? I thought it was staked on, but I guess it's supposed to come off for installation.

Oh, and the front handguard plate is loose on my BM Dissy, and rattles when the handguards aren't on the rifle. Good to know that I don't have too remove it, but rattle = bad, so it's departing the rifle with it's tail between it
s legs.

My #59 didn't have any instructions, just the paper wrapping around the unit itself. I'll try to get a hold of ARMS to get some mailed to me.

I kinda figured it out just by looking at it closely, but it's nice to hear from those who have actually done it.

I took the front handguard cap off when I put my #59 on my dissi. Doesnt serve any purpose, and as you noted, will rattle.
