I notice when looking at Dissipator barrels on Bushmaster's site that the barrel appears to actually be a carbine barrel with an added front sight assembly?  Are they made that way for function purposes or because it is easier.  If I cut a 20 inch barrel to about 16 inches, thread it and put a break on the end, I am going to have function problems?

Thanks in advance for the help...........

With the current sized gas port, you need 4 inches from the end of the barrel to the gas port for correct functioning.

I know Kurt can cut a twenty incher down to sixteen and open up the gas port so that it will function properly.  You can go that route f you don't want to buy a new Dissy upper.
