In looking at a flash hider, it escapes me as to how they work.

The portion of the tines over the flash should not be sufficient to hide the flash... but the tubeish 5.5" FH on my preban CAR seems more like a hider (and works well).

It seems like a closed tube with small bullet opening at the end would contain the flash and allow further "out of barrel" burning of powder.

My pistol supressor swallows all flash, which is back to the tube design.

Anyway, any comments by minds greater than mine appreciated... thanks in advance.
