| Building my first AR and I'm looking for a Post Ban aluminum non-collapsible stock. Here is the catch. I don’t want it extended all the way out. Is there someplace I can purchase a Post Ban collapsible looking stock made out of metal in the closed position? |

Not to my knowlege, But you could buy one and drill and roll pin it in place, or weld it in place (not normally an option, but the buffer tube and stock are in this case both aluminum.) If you wanted to get really creative and give yourself the option of un-fixing it, you could have a machinist make you a copy of the stock locking pin nut in aluminum and ajust it to the right spot and simply tack weld the nut in place. (then if the ban gets thrown out you can just cut the weld, and buy a steel nut). |

No. You can: 1) Take a collapsible stock and pin it at your desirable length, or 2) Take a fixed stock, unpin it, cut the extra metal off the buffer tube, drill a new hole ti put the screw back in and re pin it at the desired length. If you go with the second option (like I did) you'll need to find a Post ban stock that uses a CAR buffer. The ones that use an A2 buffer do not have enough extra metal at the end to fix the stock in the "closed" position. |
