Bushmaster Pre-ban lower
Hogue Grip
JP Enterprise match trigger
RRA Upper
ARMS #40
Trijicon TA-31 & ARMS #19
Daniel Defense 9" 4-rail FF handguard

Well done!

I have something in mind like that for my AWB sunset rifle.  I have the upper built and I'll probably build the lower after the holidays, then put them up until Sept.

Very nice rig! Taken it for a test drive yet?

Unfortunately no,

Meant to go out every day this weekend, the weather was beautiful but wierd things kept happening to prevent it.   The coup de grace was when my car broke down on the turnpike on the way to the range.  It's like I'm not meant to shoot it. Today the weather has gone south in a big way...sleet here and freezing rain.

Maybe I'll brave the weather this afternoon and shoot it anyway.

Lookin' good, Michael. That ACOG was the right choice.

I'm lovin' that DD forearm.

I missed out on range time yesterday. Probably one of the last nice days this year. DOH!

Very nice.

So, how much do you think you've got into her?

Very nice, you should be dam proud of that rig.

Yup, I AM proud of it.  Pricewise..hmmm

I picked up the pre ban lower for $750 a few years ago, pulled off the tele-stock that was on it and replaced it with the magpul about a year ago.
All told, I bet I've got around $3300 in it.

Great looking carbine!  I bet the anti's don't know  if they should shit themselves or run and tell Momma. Us arcommers just drool!  How do you like the feel of the magpul buttstock?  (it looks great!)

Ditch the match trigger (it's a two-stage, right?)...or go with an Accuracy speaks single stage trigger...or better yet, stick with the stock trigger.

The JP is a single stage trigger.  I had a bushie 2-stage, but didn't like all the little adjustment screws that could come loose in it.

My shooting training was mostly competitive stuff out at Camp Perry, so I'm accustomed to a lighter trigger pull.

Why do you prefer the factory trigger urban?

Looks great! Do you like Thermolds over USGI's?
11/25/2003 4:43:38 AM EDT
[#19]
You know, I've never had a problem with Thermolds...   I think they look a little more high-tech for photos too.

For reliability, maybe USGI's would be better but...

Like I said, I've never had reliability issues with Thermolds.

Ok, here's the range report on it.

I didn't have a lot of time yesterday, but if I didn't get to the range with this thing I was going to have a nervous breakdown from the anticipation.

So I bundled up (not adequately enough) and headed out.

Distance: 100 yds
Light: diffuse late afternoon, bluish
Temperature: low 30's
Wind: from the East, gusty 5-20 mph
Ammo: Black hills blue box 68 gr heavy match HP
Position: Prone supported

After sighting in, fired five rounds center of mass on a silhouette, the center of which is here:

Yeah, yeah...I know...there's a "9" in there...

What can I say, the chrome-lined barrel isn't broken in yet  [rolleyes]

As cold as it was, and as fast as I cranked those rounds off...I think I'm more than satisfied with its performance.  Once the barrel gets broken in and I have a day when I can take my time, I can't wait to try it out at longer ranges.
