I have an A2 stock on my lower with the original buffer and spring. Do i need a different buffer/spring for it before I attach it to a 16" carbine length upper?

I've had this combination for about 20 years (with A1 stock). It used to be called the "Colt M16 Carbine (Model 655)"..."not a standard US issue weapon"...

Very reliable. Nice balance. Quick handler.

(There's a good picture in the 12th Edition of the Small Arms Of The World, page 745, where the above quotes came from)...

Speaking of balance, I went with the standard barrel, not the lightweight. Any opinions on which would feel better balanced on such a carbine?

HBAR = Too heavy.

Sold it, bought an M4.

Much happier.
