I was at a local shop today and the owner took in a trade of a Eagle Arms preban. He has verified the preban status and is asking a very resonable price.
The question I have is, the lower has a light grey finish to it. Not the dark finish I'm used to on AR's. Is this usual? Or desirable? Or something to avoid?

How light? Comparable photos might make for a better assessment, but early Colt AR's had a lighter, gray-colored finish. Assuming Colt out-sourced, EA may have used the same supplier &, hence, had a similar finish on its parts as a direct result. Just a guess.

As well, the lower could have been refinished, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Grey is typical for preban Eagle receivers.
