Got the forend yesterday and I stil have not figured out what the two 1/4" (if that) deep, look like ARMS helo-coil, are for?

Any ideas?

Well that's no fun...

Hoping it was a special stud adapter or something like that.  It would be nice to add just a stud there to mount a bipod (even thought the forend will be upside down).  Save a little bit of weight without having to add a bipod adapter.

Wonder if PRI even thought of this.....?
