Does anyone know who makes AR type rifles for Wilson and how good are they?

Wilson builds the rifles in thier shop.  I have owned a few and the triggers were all amazing.  Just one thing to say.  The reason I said (owned), is they rust.  Yes they rust. The chambers and barrels are unfinished steel.  Just check the website or call and you will see.

When I got upset that my UT-15 had rusted (the third time) they said its a target barrel, not milspec.  Im not sure why there 16" barreled gun deemed the Urban Tactical Rifle is not made for real world use, but I no longer own one.

If you live in a dry climate and want a shorty traget rifle, its a great choice...

I own a Wilson tactical 16". I live in S.Florida. As it does get quite humid here I keep the barrel clean and oiled. I haven't had any rust problems. my barrel is chrome-moly steel which means it can be susceptible to rust more so than chrome lined. However the trigger break, and overall fit and function, as well as accuracy make it in my oppinion a great rifle. Also they are built "in shop" by Wilson.

$1599 MSRP

For what? A JP trigger and a barrel that rusts?

Wilson's rifles are OK and pretty accurate, but a good Bushmaster beats them out any day. If you are looking for a high grade target gun, then buy the Wilson for the sweeter trigger and slightly better accuracy.

If you are looking for a weapon to fight with, buy a Bushmaster. The Bushmaster is a lot cheaper too, but it is a superb quality rifle that I would not hesitate to stake my life on.

They make some REALLY expensive Bushmasters if you are hard set to pay a fortune. [;)]

If you intend to shoot true 5.56 ammo (M193 ball and the like) then you will need a Bushmaster's chrome lined bore/chamber and slightly looser chamber tolerances.

Bushmaster's chrome lined guns will shoot anything you feed them. Some of the other "match" type guns will choke. A guy with a tight Armalite at my Blackwater class had trouble with ammo getting seated too far and having a bullet stuck in the rifling. My Bushmaster took the very same rounds and gobbled em up.

Even though my Bushmaster is "looser" than the Wilson guns will be, it is still superbly accurate. I mounted a 3X9 scope on my rifle (it has a 16" bbl...) and shot it at 100 yards using El-Cheapo PMC 55gr ball ammo.

That thing shot sub 1" groups even though I was just resting the gun on the magazine. When I did my part it put bullets touching each other.

Accurate and reliable. You can't ask for much more than that...
