Well, it only took me a couple of years to sign up with this site, so what better topic for my first post than the SP1? I'm looking at one in a local shop, and I think I might be able to get it for between $800 and $900, in used but overall VG+ shape. My problem is, the dealer also has several Blue Labels that are truly NIB, it seems he bought a bunch before the ban and has had them in cold storage. He might part with one of them for around $1400-1500, I don't remember the models but basically HBARs, as well as a couple of lightweight carbines and A3 rifles. I'm leaning towards the SP1, mainly because of my checkbook but I think it's a neat rifle with potential. Realistically I'd like as similar a rifle to an M16A2 as I could get, which would be a green label as I understand it, but with the SP1 I'd be happy switching out the uppers if I can shoot with the short stock. Any thoughts on the SP1 versus Blue Label? |
| I have a SP1 carbine (16" brl, colapsible stock). It is real light and handy. No Fwd Assist or shell deflector bulge on the Right side for that low-drag look. The shell deflector lump is a good thing for Left Hand shooters, but otherwise it is a real nice rifle, super reliable. That price is a bargain, jump on it if it is all Colt pre-ban SP1! |
