Rich, thanks for the update for those of us waiting for the production version. (I was already testing too many Beta-version toys, LOL.) It sounds like the refinements will make a great concept work even better for my needs, i.e., the Shrike.
Once the final version is ready, will you be offering another AR15.COM intro deal/price break/group buy/etc. for us patient types? |

Just put one on my partner's gun tonight. I went on very smoothly with minimal fitting and locked up very solid. I just wish it had come with instructions. It took me a little bit to figure it all out.
I think he's going to be very happy with it. I'd buy one but they're still a little rich for me. I think I'll just use the Jedi mind-trick to convince him that it sucks and I'll buy it from him at a discount. [;)] |

I have put about 2000 rds through my gun with the mss on it and I must say that I am very pleased with the preformance of the stock.After speaking to Rich, every suggestion and improvment I had thought of is already going into the production model.Only thing left to say is "GO LOUD"

We are just digging ourselfs out of 5 inches of snow and lost power for 20 hours! Trying to ship while keeping one eye on the TV.
Well when you guys are right you are right. As much of pain it was making the buttons bigger they are a lot eaiser to use. Here is pic of the button shape now. [img]http://www.magpul.com/mss/newbut.jpg[/img] Out of the five molds we are pretty much finished with the mods on 3 of them. Progress is going quick on the other two so if you have any other feedback NOW IS THE TIME! Single point sling mounts are finished and shipping. Rich..I got a chance to check out a freinds prototype MSS stock and was very impressed do you have any left for sale? Do you still have any Experimental version left? Demand for the experimentals has been a bit overwheming, we should have some more built by Monday. Priority goes to Military testing but I should have about 5 left over if you want one. Give me a call. I am eyeballing the tan buttstock. It has "buy me" written all over it. You have to pay me for the black one first! Rich, please be sure that the battery compartments hold no less than three 123a lithium batteries. Batteries will be the next thing tackled, (after that will be the M94) but I have to decide which is the best way to proceed. The lower tail unit battery design can house up to 12 AAs or 18 123s. But I will probably go with a solution to allow the current tail unit to carry upto 8 AAs or 12 123s as would be quicker to build. A side rail mount would allow 4 AAs or 6 123's All the designs allow some mixing of battery types. Hopefully next Friday I'll be able to set down and do the review Jeff did do his review but much of his findings have been echoed by the other testers here. We will probably arrange another test to compare the Crane and others to the MSS to answer any new questions. I sorta feel like walking point and breaking a path through thick brush on this project, but good news is our utility patent which covers the MSS and other related things was just approved! |

Had a friend try out my M4 with MSS. Needless to say he loved it. The only problem was he kept calling it "Robo-Butt".
I kind of got a kick out of that. I'm afraid it's going to stick. John |

Got the sling mount and the rail yesterday. The sling mount went on great. Does anyone know how long the 8/32 thread screws need to be to mount the side rail?

Any idea about when the production run may be shipped, been waiting since December. The production run has started on the molds we finished modifying. The last mold has about a 5 days work to do on it. We are doing an initial run of 250 units and AR15.com orders will be the first to go out. These will include the single point sling mount and molded side rail. In retrospect, I should have requested the beta test stock. Anyone on the AR15.com buy list can opt for an experimental we just made another batch of 20. New ideas take time to develop and I am very conscious that people’s lives might be on the line due to an oversight in my design. I cannot say enough good things about the feedback I got from the AR15 testers. Their feedback pointed out things I either hadn't realized or didn't think was important. The new run of stocks are a lot nicer as a result. but think colors might be available for the production run? To be determined. We are molding some black bodies out yet another new material that was just introduced. It is carbon based so is currently only available in black if we decide to use it. |

Any news on the compatibility issues with the shrike? I don't know if the 2 month delay in the release of the Shrike has hampered your ability to adapt to MSS to work with the Shrike. Thanks, ~rssc |
