How are they? I am thinking about a mock 14.5" M4 kit. I would go with JT if they had one but they don't. I need some advice.
Thanks

These are both third tier suppliers with third tier parts.  I'd not buy from either.

I've purchased items from them with out any problems with service or quality.  I'd purchase from them again.

After 5,000 through my upper, there are no porblems whatsoever.  I'd buy from them again.  Do NOT buy from SHERLUK arms.  Their uppers are terrible!

Thanks for the advise guy's. I do not care about chrome and would rather have the extra cash. I do not have the $$$ to blast ammo and would be lucky to burn 1k rounds in a year.
I do want to be able to trust my life to it as I would any firearm.
Thanks Again

That's an oxymoron.

You can't skimp on your firearm if it is supposed to protect you.

Sorry, but I trust Colt, Bushmaster, and Rock River---with J&T in the room, but kind of back in the corner.  I hear fairly good things about Armalite.

That's it. Don't trust nobody else and unless I see it in my hands, and it looks good, like at a gun show or store, won't buy anybody elses stuff.

That's not to say that there isn't anything else out there that's worthwhile.  Just that I know that if there's a problem w/any of the above, it'll get taken care of.  Lot's of the smaller outfits are running on a paper thin margin, and making problems good, or throwing out, substandard parts they've gotten in, can make the difference between paying the rent this month or not; so it seems that they go ahead and use 'em, and hope they won't hear back from you.

Wasn't there a picture on the "old" ar15.com of a gas tube from them that melted-  any oldtimers remember the story on this?

Yup.  I do.  Melted the gas tube right into the unlined handguard in less than a single Beta mag.  [:)]

So, is there anything to watch out for on these kits? I figured since they mention this outfit in section 4 of the primer http://www.ar15.com/content/docs/primer/ that was at least some reassurance that they were decent kits...
