Maybe it is just me, but I just don't care for that long black foam cover.  So I tried something that Looks great(a least to me).  I bought from DSA the "customizable ITC check rest (item #cr140 $24.95).  I removed the black foam cover from the tube,  and put this on.  It now looks just like the folding stock on the FAL Law Enforment model.  Just an idea!!

Sounds like a great idea.  I've been experimenting with a plastic tube in place of the foam wrapped in paracord... so far I like it, I'm just not great at the wrapping... yet... I'll get it looking right.

Im looking at ideas for alternatives to the foam as well.  Any and all ideas/pics would be appreciated.

Any way you can post a picture?  I'm happy with the foam, but it would be interesting to see what you came up with.

If you want to see a great picture of what it looks like go to: www.dsarms.com, then select from the drop-down product category "SA58/FAL Rifle", then select "Mini SA58 OSW"  This is what you ACE but stock will look like when your done!  Just a suggestion, when you get your check rest you will have to do a little customizing so your charging handle clears the check rest.  I won't go into detail how, you will figure it out.  I did, and I am not that creative.  But my but stock now looks just like the one in that picture and the charging handle clears just fine!!

Did you try using a lubricant on the buffer tube during the install?  I lubed up my buffer tubes with CLP, slid the ARFX a few inches on the tube then followed with the foam.  I'm had my ARFX stocks off and on all my rifles many times and lubing the buffer tube seems to be the simplest way to get the foam on and off easily...
