I'd love to find an appropriately priced 3.5-10 Mark 4, but I fear those days long gone. I'll probably end up with the NXS 2.5-10x42. Want to stick with a 10X top end so I can use the rifle in the IWI Gas Gun Challenge "recce" division.

A couple pics on page 141 show m16A4s with variable power optics.  What is a solid vintage mount that may have been in use?  I'd like to put an old school Leupold Tactical Vari-X III on my A4.

Leupy steel rings would fit the bill nicely

ARMS are fine. I believe these are ARMS low (I may be wrong) on this rifle that I'm looking to clone.

Yep, wrong profile. That's what I get for looking on my phone with bad eyesight. I'd love to know what they are and what riser was used.

Rings themselves look like old Leupy rings, but I can't find current clamps that match the picture. Look for discontinued models from Leupold

You gotta be ready to go after them, or pay ridiculous gunbroker prices. It feels like anything around $1500 at this point is a buy immediately kind of moment.

I’d definitely jump at $1500.  Someone posted some in stock, might have been thoroughbred.  Long gone by the time I saw the post.

Have you guys seen black hitting the market, or is it all taupe these days?

Call Gun Gallery in FL. Neil said he had two more when I bought nine. Both Taupe and the price is right.

And good looking clones!

It is nothing more concrete than my affinity for FSBs, especially on SBRs.  Honestly they are both great, I have had the CQBR forever.

That is some silly shit! How the hell did he come up with the idea to mount his PEQ-2 on top of the carry handle? I had that same ARMS mount on my M16A2 back in 2003 with an Aimpoint mounted forward of the carry handle. It was a heavy beast, but it was effective for the time. Didn't get a laser on my gun until 2005 when I gave up the M16 for a M4 with the old ACOG TA01, and that stupid PEQ-2 took up the entire 12 o'clock rail on the KAC handguard. I did find the bracket to mount the PEQ-2 to the old plastic handguards for the M16/M4 while digging through an old toughbox. Thank God times have changed, and so has the gear.

Ya, I'm not sure what possessed him to put it up top, unless it wouldn't fit on the picatinny that goes over the handguard. I know a couple ppl in here have that arms mount, finally found a pic of someone using it. Who's gonna clone it first? Lol
