I actually mentioned this very same issue on page 1 (I think). The firing pin retaining pin is a total PITA. It's like I have to push the pin in at a more extreme angle than usual. I guess I could have exchanged it but the thing works fine and rides in a m16a1 clone. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Are they made by the same manufacturer that made their AR Stoner components? I am not sure if they ever improved, but I doubt I will ever get past the junk they were pumping out during the Sandy Hook panic. If not, do you know who makes Brownells BCGs, by chance? I recently bought a new BCM 20" upper. I had a spare BCM complete bolt carrier group laying around to drop in the new upper.
It wasn't $200 dollars, but more like $170. My thoughts: carrier finish doesn't matter per say. A lot of companies are pushing out carriers that they claim work without lubrication or that it increases reliability. That might be true to a certain extent but I found through my personal experience that the carrier finish only helps with cleaning it easier (chrome or stainless steel seems to be the best to clean off). Otherwise you get the same reliability as you would with a "normal" carrier group. Nothing beats a properly lubed rifle over any of the material they're pushing. |

I remember ordering BCM uppers when they came with a free BCG... Wasn't even that long ago.
Aim has a bunch of BCG options for good prices, IIRC. |

Another vote for AO Precision. I purchased 2 from Danger Close in Florida. I think they were 89.99 maybe?
They claim to supply a good number of manufacturers. www.aopmfg.com/industries/firearms/ Run them in both my 300 AAC Aero Precision SBR builds. So far they work well. |

how often does one have to replace a bcg anyhow? View Quote "We get about 20,000 rounds out of bolts before we start experiencing issues. The headspace gauge will start getting closing on NO-GO but not close on field. We will lose a lug on the bolt. The bolt will start skipping over rounds in the magazine and fail to insert a round. We use LMT and Daniel Defense bolts and some will actually go longer but at about 20,000 rounds is when we will start to see issues appear." "The parts that we see break more often are the bolt cam, bolt lugs shearing off, firing pins and gas keys shearing off the bolt carrier." |

Need to buy 4 BCG (2 for me, 2 for my friend as a late Christmas gift!)
PSA Premium at $69 or AO Precision at $ 89 ??? If AO, tell me a site supporter to purchase through so I can try to keep my dollars 'in house.' |

so between the 2 BCG's (PSA Prem & AO) which would you get? View Quote I know Andro Corp uses and sales AO and they are a site sponser with really good feedback. I believe right to bear carries them as well and had really good pricing. Great vendor as well If you check with Andro Corp maybe email and ask if the offer arf.com pricing. The order posts deals in the EE sometimes |

Right to bear had the AO for $89
In the description it states they make them for FN. Not sure if true but they are a reputable vendor and I would think it is |

I'm curious what round count you guys have on those PSA BCGs, both regular and premium. What type....phosphate?

I have to agree on the value of the Toolcraft/PSA nickle boron BCG. I've looked at two in the last week. Daughters BF just assembled an 18" PSA and it is nice. The other was also an 18". Going to roll with one in my 300BLK SBR once my Form 1 clears.
On a side note, I was given an F1 TiN coated BCG from my cousin that I put into a PSA 16" rifle for my girls. A $300 BCG in a $250 upper! LOL That thing is a work of art! Friggin nice finish and super slick. Are these done by Cryptic Coatings? Brad |

I still have a few of the free BCM bcg’s because I switched over to Bootleg. If I ever need anymore, they would be toolcraft or bootleg, not bcm.

Guess we will never know???
