5D Tactical.  It's a whole other world from the mini-mill and jig I had a few years ago.  SSSOOOOOOO much faster and easier.  I did bork one up a little bit; self-contained trigger group will negate the slightly extra opening I did near the trigger slot.  (didn't check the collet tightness and it was a smidge loose; end mill lowered itself and kerchunked a bit out)  That one's getting skeletonized for my ultralight anyway so I refuse to provide any fucks to give.

My 9mm and SBR lowers came out spectacular though, as did the other 3 I already did with this setup.  It's a friend's; he also happens to be my civilian doctor.

Didn't take any finished photos, but they're on the couch next to me.

This is how lazy I am.

They're juuuuuust a hair less "spectacular" than something milled on a CNC with a $300 end mill, but they're also done with a trim router in a bench vise with a $40 end mill......so I'm extremely happy.

If I was doing it at work, I wouldn't care. Doing it in the basement results in tiny little slivers tracked all over the house that then get stuck in a foot.

For what it's worth, our unit is drilling this weekend and we still don't have any money to pay anyone with.  Still waiting for the budget that started 1 October to get funded.

Since we have roughly 5/8 of our unit that travels in to the area for drill, and we gotta foot that bill too, it could get fun.

I really don't like being the RA (financials guy) for the squadron.  Congress sucks cocknballz.

Umm the DOD has a full budget...it's everyone else operating under a CR.  So not sure what your funding issue is

Spending bill was signed, Appropriations wasn't.

We've received SOME of our funding, like 727 and 728, but we're still waiting on O&M and 721 which are both still under emergency funding.  The entire government was operating at FY18 levels in October and November, as the entire government was under emergency funding waiting for Congress to get back in session after the election.  Your unit RA can fill you in if you need more information.

Nope you're incorrect.  The Appropriations bill was signed into law by Trump on Sept 28th.  The Authorization bill was signed into law Aug 18th by Trump.  Being that you're a finance guy who I assume has completed at least Level I DOD Financial Management Certification you should know you need both, which you have.  Therefore you do indeed have a full budget.  Again this is the DOD, not the rest of the government. My Agency is still under a CR

Well being you're talking about different funding, budgets, etc I just assumed you were a Finance guy or at the very least dealt with different colors of money.  I guess that explains why you didn't know DOD actually has a full year budget.

Not having funds is different than there not being a budget.  Not having funds comes down to poor planning, poor funds allocation by your finance folks, as well as top leadership not pushing to get more funds available for things needed now.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled thread...

Question for all who are ordered the Compass lake barrels, did you call or email them to special order the barrels? and do you need to send any more information or do they have the details on file to cut the flush barrels? Also what blanks have you all been using?

Apologies for all the questions, but finally getting around to starting this project after my MK13
