Getting ready to start building off a new Colt 6920 OEM-2.

Attachment Attached File

14.5 SOCOM barrel installed along with the KAC MRE rail. Still deciding what optic to go with. Oh and it's wearing my SBR'd lower until I can send it off to Adco to pin and weld with an NT4 flash hider and spacer (KAC can is pending).

Ha!

Took the NSW on an evening deer hunt. Didn’t see anything in the evening. I was very impressed how much light gathers on the x24 at 2.5x after sundown though.

And after using my GAP in the morning this thing weighs nothing!

Not sure if I like the rifle with or without the KAC broomstick. Thinking of getting one of the small KAC handstops.

Ditch the broomstick. Fold the Bipod backwards and use it as a FVG.

Done. Took broomstick off, and had to move the scope forward a bit to get the eye relief right, as I like to run my stock a little shorter than my LOP - Second position when standing, 3rd when prone or seated.

Just got back from rezeroing and cleaning. This CLE barrel shoots amazing.

Now I just need an MRDS Mount for the Nightforce rings and a Docter Sight II.

Assuming I get a Wilcox mount in the near future...what is the best place to get a Docter? Is the Docter Sight II the correct model?

If you can get a wilcox that quickly, share with us where you're getting them. A lot of us have been looking for 2+years with no luck.

First bout of handloaded 77s went downrange today (BA tube) propelled by RL-15.

Best I got was about 1.25" center to center.  Not horrible, and I surely had far worse results from some of my mk262-esque factory loads, but wholly underwhelming.  My WOA varminter did about the same with the same loads (did 10 of each charge weight, groups of 5 from each rifle).

8208 and Varget still to test.

Try AA2520. 23.8-24.2 with 77 SMK. 1/2 MOA in my Bartlein.

Also 24.5 RL15 with 69 SMK. 3/4 MOA

Every barrel I’ve ever loaded for always prefers them slow.

Don't have any 2520, and it's all but impossible to buy powder in MD without running into a dealer that requires you to sign the bullshit "powder ownership log".  It's totally cool though, it's required by the FIRE MARSHALL.  And totally not used in any way to determine who may be "making their own bullets".  And it definitely hasn't led to the state police staking out anyone's house to break in, WITHOUT A WARRANT, to catch people in the act of the horrendous crime of having more than 5 pounds of powder at any given time.  Maryland is fucking dildos.

So next time I head to PA to my honey hole to get powder, I'll be snagging some (more) 8208, whatever shoots supers best in my blackout CFE BLK didn't do so hot today, but i still have H110 and lil gun to test), and a couple others.  2000MR, AR-comp, and 2520 are on the list.  Maybe 1680 if the other two don't work well in testing.

Anyone have a legit pic of a Recce ITW with a normal ole waffle stock on it?  I don't think I've ever seen one.   And one other thing, all my years I've never been up close to a genuine SOPMOD. I'm not sure how that happened but nobody I know actually uses one.   Do the bolsters on the side actually come off?  Sometimes I feel like I see seem and other times I don't.

Such important questions for a Monday.

I miss shooting my recce.

Question regarding ejection pattern:

I’m running my Recce Upper on my only SBR’d lower that I share with my CQBR upper. I normally run a milspec spring and H2 buffer. With 77 and 62 gr I’ve noticed an unsuppressed ejection pattern around 2:30-3:00, and suppressed around 2:00. Do you guys think I should get a blue or red Sprinco spring and throw in it with the H2, or continue as is?

Put a sopmod on it for sure. You will not be disappointed and you will see no reason for any other stock on a carbine.

There is a bravo version which doesn’t have the storage. Looks good on super skinny small sbrs but will look funny on a full railed handguard Recce.

Agreed. Unless your shooting brass out at 1 o clock unsuppressed or experiencing bolt bounce when suppressed, Your good.

Before recently I would have agreed with this statement whole heartedly, but recently I've been running the CTR on my recce and I'm actually starting to prefer it over the sopmod. For me, and I say this know my dimensions aren't the same as most, the cheek weld isn't that different from a sopmod and the rifle over all feels more maneuverable when not shooting off a bipod or a bag. Now nothing will beat a sopmod for cheek weld, but the CTR isn't bad at all.

On another note, I pulled these out of the old recce thread, it says they are from a MOH trailer but I cant find which one. Does anyone know exactly where they came from?
